- Introduction to PC-Write by Quicksoft
-
- Welcome to PC-Write! This screen tells how to begin. First make a backup copy
- of the program and utility diskettes. If you are familiar with software, type
- QUICKS.ME on the program diskette for quickstart information. If not, read our
- Tutorial first. The PC-Write Tutorial and Quick Guide, and the Help screens,
- should help you do simple editing and get a feel for PC-Write. You'll probably
- need to register, or at least get a full manual, to use PC-Write effectively.
-
- To make a backup copy of the PC-Write diskettes, put this diskette in drive A
- and an empty, formatted diskette in drive B. At the DOS prompt, A>, type:
- COPY *.* B:
- Do the same with the utility diskette. Use these copies. Save the originals.
- To get the Tutorial and Quick Guide, insert the program diskette in drive A,
- and enter one of the following at the A> prompt:
- PRINTMAN (prints copy; best at 12 chars/inch)
- TYPEMAN (types on screen, with pause to read)
- FILEMAN MANUAL1.CRN B:PART1.DOC (un-compresses manual; do for all 3)
- The Tutorial has 17 pages, the Quick Guide 44. To print or type starting at
- any page, enter the number of pages to skip after the command:
- PRINTMAN 8 (skips first 8 pages)
- Users of PC-Write before version 2.7, ask for a copy of our "Upgrade Notes" or
- enter the command FILEMAN UPDATE27.CRN UPDATE27.DOC and look at UPDATE27.DOC.
